For the past 10 years, The Brain from Top to Bottom has been funded by the Institute of Neurosciences, Mental Health, and Addiction (INMHA), one of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). This year, because of budget tightening at CIHR, INMHA has been forced to review its priorities. As a result, it has announced that it will cease funding The Brain from Top to Bottom as of March 31, 2013.

The valiant little team that has been producing The Brain from Top to Bottom in both English and French for the past decade must therefore find a new source of funding if we are to continue doing so. We have already begun approaching other agencies that may be able to help, but we have received no definite commitments, and there is not much time left before next March 31.

We have therefore decided to go public with our situation, in hope of gathering ideas and contacts from the broad community that visits this site and has made it a go-to reference source. If you have any suggestions for obtaining funding so that we can continue developing new content for and updating this site, please drop us a line and let us know.

Best regards,

Bruno Dubuc, Patrick Robert, Denis Paquet, and Al Daigen
